SQL Server is a massive tool, and very few people have in depth knowledge of the whole product. That is where a central repository of questions and answers is so useful.

This is not a forum. Forums are great resources for asking questions and contributing to discussions, but you find the same questions being asked over and over again.

The idea behind this FAQ is that each question is listed just once. If you ask a question that has already been asked, I will point you at the existing answer. This way we will build up a searchable database of SQL Server questions and answers, without duplication.
